This drug rehab center is a residential treatment facility in Austin, Texas. They focus on helping people chieve long-term recovery from addiction by addressing the root causes of addiction through a comprehensive range of care services.

GOAL SETTING
Before we review the goals, let’s look at where this Rehab center was initially:
Initial Status
When the client approached us:
- Their DR (Domain Rating) was 39 [Source: Ahrefs]
- Their organic traffic was 8,121 per month [Source: Ahrefs]
- They wanted to have an affordable solution
Emphasis on Thought Leadership
Moreover, the client also wanted to leverage Digital PR (specifically media exposure and boosting thought leadership).

Finalized Goals
Thus based on the above requirements, we came up with these goals for our SEO campaign:
- Devise a Performance Marketing based Journalist Outreach campaign whereby the client would pay for earned citations only (such a pay-for-performance model has been at the core of all our Digital PR and Offsite SEO endeavors)
- Using Journalist Outreach platforms (e.g. HARO aka Connectively) to quickly increase the website’s DR (Domain Rating)
- To grow their organic traffic which typically has a higher conversion rate apart from being a more economical inbound marketing option as compared to
outbound marketing channels. - To boost the personal brand of their founder as a thought leader and further boost his credibility, reputation, and social proof within the Rehab and Addiction Treatment Industry
PROCESS
Keeping these goals in mind, our Pay-for-Performance campaign focused on earning high-authority and legit backlinks for them, by sending persuasive and personalized pitches to journalists on HARO (Help a Reporter Out) on behalf of the client.
RESULTS
Within only six months of working with them, we achieved the following results:

These were links from more mainstream websites where, rather than looking for relevancy the client wanted to participate in whatever discussion was taking place in these high authority publications.

The client fully understood that, while these may not be relevant websites, getting quoted in such publications and earning backlinks from them had several benefits, like:
- increase in Domain Rating
- Increased organic visibility (i.e. free organic traffic from SEO)
- Free publicity
- The founder’s personal brand was further solidified as a thought leader and industry expert who was deemed credible by the mainstream publications to get quoted in them. Gaining such social proof via the lower cost route of journalist outreach based earned media was key for the client.

According to research, 42% of companies took more than three months to witness a noticeable increase in their DA scores.
Also, as we often state, DR is on a logarithmic scale; which means that it takes much more effort to increase DR from 42 to 43 than it takes to increase DR from, say 41 to 42.
Given the above tough challenges and the available budget, it was highly satisfactory that we were able to increase the DR from 39 to 44 in less than six months.
