FURTHER DETAILS

  • SITES DR
We do our best to avoid sites with lower DR. This is easier in the case of Conventional Outreach (guest posts, etc) than HARO Outreach.
  • NO-FOLLOW LINKS and UNLINKED MENTIONS

These are few and far in between, but it’s not possible to avoid them fully in a credible SEO outreach campaign that’s being done to real and legit sites. These also have at least some SEO benefits. Hence while, we take various steps to avoid them, in the rare case that we do earn them they are priced as below:
    • No-Follow Links Prices: Only 70% of their Do-Follow counter-parts mentioned in the above table
    • Unlinked Mentions: Only 40% of their Do-Follow counter-parts mentioned in the above table

Top 8 HARO Outreach Tips [Liked by Glen Allsop]

Below are a few tips on HARO outreach which I shared in the SEO Blueprint Official Facebook group run by Glen Allsop. Someone had mentioned how HARO wasn’t working out for them:

https://www.evernote.com/l/AoLsJHoZxuxJmZvS9B11-B_ZlStbu9esJSA

He was kind enough to add them to the community’s /Gold/ Page as can been in the below screenshot:

HARO outreach has worked pretty well for us over the last 3 years. My suggestions/comments:

  1. ALWAYS REMEMBER: Most journalists are OVERWORKED and UNDERPAID so your pitch must make their job as easy as possible. I’ll explain this more in subsequent tips.
  2. Journalists may receive 100s of pitches and they typically will use quotes from the initial few and then just ignore the rest. So try to send your pitch as soon as possible.
  3. For beginners, I would typically suggest to basically not get too creative with their email subject line as that may make it harder for the journalist to know which of their stories you are sending a pitch for.
But no harm in answering a query about “Your Tips for Remote Work Productivity” with “Top 3 Remote Work Productivity Tips”. (Include a number and use an odd number).
  4. As we keep telling our team, your first 1-3 sentences should convince the reader that your pitch is going to be relevant/useful. So use those sentences to convince the reader that you have relevant experiences, expertise, or knowledge.
So you shouldn’t copy-paste the same intro in response to every pitch.
    EXAMPLE;
For a query about recruitment: explain (in the intro) how – even though you are an entrepreneur you have to help with recruitment (being a small business owner)
For a query about productivity: explain (in the intro) how you boosted your productivity (and do NOT talk about your awesome startup or your great app).
  5. We also stick to about 200-300 words in our pitch (including signature and everything) unless stated otherwise.
  6. We also try to include 1-2 questions in our pitches as questions increase your chances of getting a response.
  7. We also include:
  • names + descriptions of 2-5 relevant tools
  • relevant statistics + their source
  • potentially 1-2 pictures/GIFs

    8. HARO can only process plain text so avoid formatting (bold/italic fond, hyperlinking) as that will only cause your pitch to include a lot of HTML code.
